Living in a multi-cultural community

A good way for people from diverse communities to get to know each
other is to go to the many public events that take place in London
during the summer months. There are many local festivals such as
Haringey’s Tottenham Carnival, Tower Hamlets’ Brick Lane Mella,
Kensington’s Nottinghill Carnival; but one of London’s largest and most
diverse cultural events which takes place each year in a number of
London boroughs – is the Mayor’s Thames Festival. This festival takes
place over a weekend in late summer and spans the South Bank of the
Thames between Westminster Bridge and Tower Bridge. It has grown to be
one of London’s greatest family fun events, attracting local and
international visitors, a diversity of cultural performers and lots of
activities for all ages.
